HR 3204: Federal Drug Safety and Quality Act
The United States Congress passed HR 3204, the Federal Drug Quality and Safety Act, late in 2013. The bill created a new voluntary licensure category, “Outsourcing Facilities.” More information about the legislation can be found below:
12/18/13: An amendment discussed during debate of the federal budget compromise last week would have designated pharmacists as providers in the context of Medicare Accountable Care Organizations. Unfortunately, the amendment was not introduced and so did not more forward. However, this was a positive sign and a step in the right direction federally. CSHP will continue to monitor the situation for any future developments.
