The mission of California Society of Health-System Pharmacists' Continuing Pharmacy Education program is to provide innovative educational activities that will advance the practice of pharmacy and optimize patient care.
California Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
Philosophy and Emphasis: ACPE standards were designed to facilitate the continuum of learning and emphasize the foundation needed for development of the learner as a lifelong learner.
ACPE standards emphasize that pharmacists and pharmacy technicians should:
- Identify their individual educational needs
- Pursue educational activities that will produce and sustain more effective professional practice in order to improve practice, patient, and population healthcare outcomes
- Link knowledge, skills, and attitudes learned to their application of knowledge, skills, and attitudes in practice
- Continue self-directed learning throughout the progression of their careers
CSHP's responsibilities to learners:
- Advocate for lifelong learning of pharmacists and technicians
- Emphasize systematic, self-directed learning
- Identify and meet the educational needs of pharmacists and technicians
- Assure that faculty take an active role in delivering content so pharmacists and technicians are actively engaged in their learning
- Assess participant learning from a CPE activity
- Evaluate the impact of CPE activities in pharmacy practice

Seminar Continuing Pharmacy Education

A subscription to CJHP is included in each CSHP membership. A minimum of six hours of ACPE accredited activities are available each year. Nonmembers can take advantage of CJHP CPE at a cost of $25 per exam.
ACPE accredited independent home study programs relevant to your clinical practice setting. This Website has been developed by health-system pharmacist organizations to ensure the highest integrity of content and to facilitate ease of access to a comprehensive menu of approved continuing pharmacy education home-study programs.
CSHP is proud to offer the largest state-run seminar for health-system pharmacists in the United States. The goal of Seminar is to provide our attendees, ranging from student pharmacists to pharmacy directors, with a venue for updating their knowledge through a variety of continuing pharmacy education activities, networking with colleagues, enhancing their skills, and learning about the latest products and technologies offered by industry.
