Joseph H. Beckerman Memorial Scholarship Fund

Joseph H. Beckerman was devoted to health-system pharmacy as a profession. He was recognized as a mentor to hundreds of students and young pharmacists. He was a leader of not only the California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP), but also a past-president of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
The Joseph H. Beckerman Memorial Scholarship Fund honors Joe Beckerman and creates a lasting legacy of his commitment to health-system pharmacy. The scholarship fund's purpose is to continue his vision of health-system pharmacy as an integral component to the delivery of health care in this country.
Scholarships will be awarded annually to a California pharmacy student that exhibits a desire for a career in health-system pharmacy. For a student to qualify, she or he must also demonstrate characteristics that were important to Joe Beckerman: ethical behavior, professionalism, leadership, caring, and compassion.
See the application materials for more information. The due date for this first scholarship is June 1 and the winner will be announced on September 1.
