"Health-system pharmacy professionals must be a visible ingredient in health care. For too long, the health-system pharmacist's value has been unknown to those outside our profession. We must continue to strengthen our advocacy efforts in the regulatory and legislative arenas so that the unique needs and roles of health-system pharmacists are understood by the patient, other health care professionals, legislators, regulators, and third-party payers. CSHP's advocacy must involve all of us. We have had successes when health-system pharmacists speak with one voice. From the grassroots, individual practitioner level at the regional/affiliate chapter/technician division level to statewide efforts involving CSHP Committees and the Board of Directors, we must have an identity and coordinate all of our efforts to speak with one voice and be the visible ingredient in patient safety."
Dr. Korman received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco and completed her pre-pharmacy education at University of California, Los Angeles. She has served as a member of the CSHP Board of Directors, the President of the Northern California Society of Hospital Pharmacists, a past President of the UCSF Pharmacy School of Alumni Association, a member of the 1993 Seminar Management Team, and numerous other committees. She currently serves on several boards and committees including the San Francisco VA Medical Center Peer Review Committee and UCSF Committee on Human Research.
She is married to Bob Korman and they have one son, Christopher Korman. They enjoy walks, travel and photography.
