The CPE Committee is tasked with bringing quality continuing pharmacy education to our members. From topic selection based on member feedback to faculty recruitment to presentation review, the CPE Committee brings not only the Seminar educational programming to life, but also identifies and reviews additional educational opportunities throughout the year.

The Council on Professional Affairs helps determine CSHP’s stance on the biggest issues confronting the profession. From scope of practice to emergent health safety issues, this Committee plays a critical role in charting the direction of the organization. The time commitment for this committee consists of approximately 25 hours per term.

The Editorial Advisory Board is the group of volunteers who help plan the content of the California Journal of Health-System Pharmacy. The EAB develops content ideas, reviews submitted manuscripts for publication, encourages manuscript submissions, and provides feedback to CSHP on the direction the Journal should take.

Become an expert in grassroots lobbying techniques and actively participate in the legislative and regulatory process. Recommend the positions and priorities for legislative action on bills before the state legislature that are of interest to CSHP and impact the practice of pharmacy. CSHP’s Government Affairs Committee plays a central role in advancing the profession of pharmacy in California and relies on volunteers like you to make it happen.

Healthcare is a constantly evolving landscape. CSHP’s Committee on Healthcare Reform was formed to help chart a path to a future where pharmacists are integrated into every part of the care continuum. Join this Committee to learn more about healthcare reform, what it means for the pharmacy profession and how we can position pharmacists to play a leading role in creating the healthcare system of tomorrow.

The Membership Committee is tasked with doing what we know best: serving our members. They provide oversight to CSHP’s member recruitment campaign and assure that the personal touch for membership retention is continued.

Additionally, the Membership Committee works with the staff to offer support to our affiliate chapters, therefore making membership within the regional chapters more beneficial.

The New Practitioner Executive Committee (NPEC) is made up of six New Practitioner members, ranging from first years to fifth year post-graduates. This team of knowledgeable and dedicated committee members aims to foster leadership, involvement and communication amongst CSHP’s New Practitioner members, as well as ensure that they have a voice on the CSHP Board of Directors.

This committee is tasked to select and recognize a Pharmacist of the Year and Distinguished Service Award recipient for the organization. The committee is comprised of past POY and DSA recipients of either award.

The Practitioner Recognition Program Committee is tasked with selecting CSHP Fellow based on the established criteria, as well as the Student Leadership in Health-System Practice Award Recipient.

Be a public representative for CSHP! Participate in the development of a statewide public relations theme, as well as the National Hospital and Health-System Pharmacy Week Campaign. Utilize your PR skills for outreach to local media outlets and for nationally coordinated grassroots events and activities.

The Public Relations Committee is also tasked with working with our chapters to assist in promoting health-system pharmacy, chapter events, and community outreach in their local areas.

Plan and coordinate the CSHP Annual Meeting! Strengthen your organizational skills while planning four full days of cutting-edge continuing education programs, industry exhibits, awards, special receptions, and the House of Delegates meeting.

The Student Section Executive Committee (SSEC) is made up of one student representative from each of the California schools of pharmacy. The committee aims to foster leadership, involvement, and communication amongst student chapters, as well as ensure that the student voice is heard at the Board of Directors.
