Founded in 2009, the PPC-PAC is a bipartisan committee which exists to elect, educate and build rapport with elected leaders and officials who understand the important role pharmacists and their associates play in our state.
The PPC-PAC solicits contributions from concerned individuals, chapters, and companies across the state, and distributes those funds to officeholders and candidates for state offices.
The PPC-PAC ensures pharmacists have a voice in the Capitol, advocating specifically on behalf of your profession.
The political arena is awash with both money and special interests. In the past, voices of expertise would be drowned out by better-funded opposition. This hurts both pharmacists and patients.
In 2009, CSHP made a strategic decision to form a political action committee (PAC). Doing so would help provide the needed resources to invest in building relationships with policy-makers.
Running for election in California can cost upwards of $300,000. Having a PAC gives CSHP the opportunity to support candidates who understand the value pharmacists bring and who truly care about patient safety.
NOTE: PPC-PAC contributions are completely voluntary and NOT tax deductible. Contributions may not exceed $7,000 in one calendar year. Any contribution $100 or greater will be publicly reported. Per California law, if you choose to make a PAC contribution, you must complete the following information above: Your Name, Occupation, Employer, and Resident Address.
