Sacramento, CA - The California Society of Health-System Pharmacists (CSHP) has named Sandy On as the recipient of the Student Leadership in Health-System Practice Award for 2018. This award recognizes, on an annual basis, one student who has demonstrated exemplary leadership ability and celebrates the contributions of students who represent the very best attributes and accomplishments of CSHP student members.
Sandy is currently a pharmacy student, set to graduate in 2019, at the University of Southern California, School of Pharmacy.
Sandy has been involved as a student member with CSHP since she joined in 2015. From 2015-2018, Sandy served as the ASHP/CSHP chapter president-elect and ASHP/CSHP chapter president where she produced several large-scale networking events for fellow student pharmacists, inviting guest faculty members, directors of pharmacy, and CSHP board members for various roundtable sessions. Starting in 2017, she served as the Co-chair for CSHP's Student Section Executive Committee (SSEC) where she helps to lead a 12 member group including representatives from all pharmacy schools of California who collaborate by discussing innovative ideas among the CSHP student chapters.
Describing why Sandy deserved this recognition, Dr. William Gong stated, “Sandy has been extremely diligent and is truly committed to the profession. The best part for me is that I have personally seen her grow and mature into a true leader. She has done an excellent job in her leadership roles here at the USC School of Pharmacy and I know that she will continue to function in this capacity moving forward."
Sandy will be recognized for her achievement during the CSHP Seminar 2018 Awards Ceremony held on Saturday, October 6th in San Diego, CA.
