PTCB Offers Sterile Compounding Certification for Pharmacy Technicians
- CPhTs Can Apply Now For Advanced Certification -

 

Should your pharmacy technicians be certified in sterile compounding?

 

Becoming a Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) is a way for pharmacy technicians to:

  • Demonstrate specialized knowledge in sterile preparation
  • Reinforce an unwavering commitment to medication safety
  • Stand out as a leader on the pharmacy team

 

Who can apply? 

 

To apply, a technician must be a PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing and have completed:

  • a PTCB-recognized sterile compounding training program; and 1 (one) year of continuous full-time compounded sterile preparation work experience;
    OR

  • 3 years of continuous full-time compounded sterile preparation work experience.

 

To earn CSPT Certification, CPhTs are required to: 1) pass the CSPT Exam; and 2) submit Competency Attestation documentation from a qualified supervisor.
