CSHP grants money to affiliated chapters or Pharmacy Technician Executive Leadership (PTEL) that have taken the lead to implement programs which benefit the public.


Chapter Grants

Each fiscal year, CSHP will issue no more than five $2,000 grants totaling $10,000 to affiliate chapter or Pharmacy Technician Executive Leadership (PTEL) recipients.  Criteria used to determine whether a grant proposal will be funded include but are not limited to how the proposal:

  • Promotes the evolution of pharmacy;
  • Promotes patient care;
  • Supports CSHP’s mission, vision, and strategic map.

Each fiscal year, CSHP will issue student chapter grants totaling no more than $500 for each chapter. Criteria used to determine whether a student chapter grant will be funded include how the proposal:

  • Promotes the evolution of pharmacy;
  • Promotes the advancement of student leadership development;
  • Supports CSHP’s mission, vision, and strategic map.

All grant requests must be submitted on the CSHP grant request form.

  • Applications will be accepted between July 1st and August 31st of each year
  • Members of the CSHP Board of Directors may be contacted for assistance in preparing the grant request form.
  • Grant requests should be submitted through affiliate, student chapters or PTEL.  Requests from individuals will not be accepted.
  • Proposals will only be accepted for future activities. No retroactive funding will be provided.
  • The intent of the grant program is to fund new and innovative activities as well as to provide support for ongoing programs that meet the criteria as stated above.
  • Submission of a proposal to CSHP indicates acceptance of the terms identified in the grant guidelines.
  • Funding will not be granted for food, drinks or entertainment, or to accomplish CSHP committee charges.
  • The maximum amount per grant will be $2,000 for affiliate chapters or PTEL and $500 for student chapters.

At the September Board meeting, the Board of Directors will evaluate which (if any) of the grant requests will be honored. The Board of Directors may elect not to fund submitted grant requests.

All grant applicants shall be notified of the Board’s decision prior to Seminar via an email from the CEO. 

  • Acceptance letters to grantees that will receive funding will include a copy of the “Grant Completion Report” to be completed and returned to CSHP’s Treasurer to provide a description of the outcomes resulting from the grant funding for the specific activities identified in proposal.
  • Denial letters shall include a specific description of the reason the request for funding was denied.

Following approval of a grant the check in the full amount will be mailed to the appropriate affiliate chapter, student chapter or PTEL, not a specific individual.

Funds provided by CSHP for grants are restricted and can only be utilized for the   approved designated activity.

No later than twelve (12) months following receipt of funding, all recipients of CSHP grants shall submit a status report to the CSHP Treasurer on the utilization of funds.  Activities that receive grant funding must be completed within 12 months after receipt of funds or funds must be returned to CSHP.

If only partial funding is utilized, or none of the funding is utilized, the remaining funds are to be returned to CSHP.

Annually, at the October board meeting, the CSHP Treasurer will provide a status report on all grant activities funded during the previous fiscal year as part of his/her year-end report to the Board of Directors and House of Delegates.
