All new diabetic medications must run safety studies with their new products to ensure that their drugs do not cause negative cardiac outcomes. Recently, some of these studies not only prove they do not worsen cardiovascular outcomes, but also indicate they may help to reduce the risk of such cardiovascular events. Pioneer 6 explores a novel oral GLP-1 analog, semaglutide, and how it affects cardiovascular outcomes in diabetics.
