Residency Program Description - NorthBay Medical Center

NorthBay Healthcare is a private, not for profit, independent healthcare system in Solano County consisting of 2 community hospitals, multiple primary and specialty care clinics and a Cancer Center. NorthBay prides itself on the ability to provide compassionate care, advanced medicine, close to home for all residents of Solano County. The Department of Pharmacy supports the medication management aspect of this mission with a highly trained group of clinical pharmacists that collaborate with the medical, nursing and supportive staff to optimize pharmacotherapy.
Residents focus their training on the goal of becoming a well-rounded clinical pharmacist proficient in the delivery of comprehensive pharmacotherapeutic care in the acute care setting. Core rotations include: adult general medical & surgical, intensive care, pharmacy administration, and anticoagulation clinic. A variety of elective rotations are also offered such as infectious disease, cardiology, oncology and transitions of care. Residents in the program also have the opportunity to obtain a teaching certificate through an elective academic longitudinal rotation with Touro University. All residents have the opportunity to precept pharmacy interns from the University of the Pacific, Touro University, and University of California, San Francisco.
